Saturday, April 26, 9am-4pm
Join us for free admission, guided science hikes, free seedlings, expert tabling with HF&G staff, and giveaways. Guests can also enjoy live music, stilt walkers and food trucks while exploring the beauty of the arboretum.
Seedling Giveaway
Take home a Silky Dogwood, Cornus amomum, an adaptable shrub that’s native to Ohio! Its flowers attract diverse and beneficial pollinators and its fruit is highly favored by songbirds. The seedling giveaway at Holden Arboretum will be available from 9am-4pm while supplies last on Saturday, April 26.

Working Woods Tour with Rebecah Troutman
Saturday, April 26, 11am-12pm
Learn about the Working Woods Learning Forest, our 67-acre, nationally recognized, publicly accessible demonstration site at the Holden Arboretum. This forest integrates research and outreach to increase understanding of and promote best practices in forest management.
Spring Phenology Tour with Dr. Katie Stuble
Saturday, April 26, 1-2pm
Explore the Wildflower Garden as your learn more about the important data that Dr. Katie Stuble and her team of volunteers have been collecting. Watching the ephemerals and forest canopy can clue us in to important ecosystem changes due to climate change.
Rhododendron Tour with Connor Ryan
Saturday, April 26, 3-4pm
Explore one of HF&G’s largest and most beautiful plant collections with Rhododendron Collections Manager Connor Ryan. While strolling through the garden, Connor will share the history of the collection as well as scientific and conservation activities the rhododendron collection supports.
