Fairy Doors at Cleveland Botanical Garden

The fairies are returning to the forests and gardens of Northeast Ohio – this time to both the Cleveland Botanical Garden and the Holden Arboretum – and beginning Friday, July 9th children of all ages can see for themselves!

Return of the Butterflies

To celebrate the arrival of spring in a big way, Holden Forest & Gardens presents Return of the Butterflies at the Cleveland Botanical Garden – a visual treat with more than 600 newly emerged butterflies in Costa Rica biome. The butterflies in the Costa Rica biome will bring the Glasshouse to life—amazing, colorful, moving, exhilarating life and you’ll see them actively searching for nectar as food sources, flying around.

Go For Gold at the Garden

Join us on Thursday, July 22nd to celebrate the start of the 2021 Tokyo Olympics with a happy hour in our Japanese Garden! Some samples of sushi as well as sake and Japanese beer will be available to purchase at this gold medal event! Make sure to follow the arrow to Sunken Garden where Crooked River Archers will be leading archery demonstrations! We hope to see you there.

Debra H. Guren and Ruth Swetland Eppig Galleries

The Garden’s Eppig and Guren Art Galleries feature works by local and national artists, across many different media.

The collection rotates, and the only link between exhibits is that they were all inspired by the botanical and natural worlds.

We’ve been proud to display paintings, photographs, and occasionally sculpture and nontraditional media forms over the years.

Gateway Garden

This 2-acre public plaza is a vibrant oasis full of ornamental trees, shrubs, and hardy perennials. The pronounced seasonal nature offers brilliant bulbs in spring, eye-popping annuals in summer, and showy fall foliage, berries, and bark textures. There’s even a waterfall and small pond.

Our ever-changing path indulges your senses with a collage of hues and textures, as well as plenty of take-home inspiration. One day you might spy a group of towering foxtail lilies, and a month later come across a hot pink crape myrtle—so visit often to see it all.
