Join us for the Working Woods Open House at the Holden Arboretum. Celebrate the unveiling of new interpretive signage in our 67-acre Working Woods Learning Forest, where science-based forest management comes to life.

Meet HF&G’s forestry team and explore hands-on demonstrations showing how thoughtful management supports wildlife, boosts forest health, and provides sustainable products — from timber to maple syrup and edible plants. Discover how the new signage and trails reveal the stories of resilience, beauty, and biodiversity that unfold when forests are managed with care.

The day will feature:

Guided forest tours highlighting conservation, research, and forestry in action
Working Woods Wares — a small shop featuring goods from the woods and for the woods
Interactive exhibits about the new Working Woods Hub and Holden Arboretum Consulting Forestry services
Forest-sourced root beer and light refreshments

Parking for this event will be in the Working Woods lot (9805 Sperry Rd) & loop drive (next driveway to the north)

Whether you’re a landowner, nature lover, or curious visitor, this event offers a rare look at forest stewardship in the modern era.
