A shuttle will take you a short distance to the woods. The shuttle will run continuously throughout the day with some intermittent breaks in the schedule. There will also be directional signage if you prefer to walk from the parking to the Working Woods Learning Forest (about 3/4 mile along flat, gravel paths; approximately 20 minutes).

Terrain
The Working Woods Learning Forest features a natural-surface trail system. Most tours cover approximately 1 mile and are primarily flat with some gentle slopes. Four tours include a steeper section; participants will be notified of this before the tour begins. Trail surfaces may include grass, gravel and compacted clay, with wet or muddy areas possible depending on weather conditions.

Accessibility
Due to the natural-surface terrain of the trail system, unfortunately, none of the tour routes are ADA accessible. We recognize that this may prevent some guests from participating in the tours and sincerely regret that we cannot offer an accessible route. We would still love to welcome you to other parts of the event, including visiting our tabling partners at the Working Woods Building, attending Lectures, and joining us for select Outside Talks and Demonstrations: Forest Pollinators Outside Talk, Wildlife Habitat Outside Talk, Rare Plants Lecture, Seed Sorting & Processing Demonstration, Forest-Sourced Root Beer Demonstration, and Working Woods Research Lecture.

Amenities
Pit restrooms and porta-potties will be available onsite at the Working Woods Learning Forest. Indoor restrooms will be available at the Visitor Center near the parking.
Potable water will be available at both the Working Woods Learning Forest and the Visitor Center – please bring a reusable water bottle to refill!
Food and beverages will be available to purchase from local food trucks at both the Working Woods Learning Forest and the Visitor Center.
