An interactive Arboretum experience designed to nurture connection, curiosity, and wonder for young children and their caregivers.
Join us for a 90-minute interactive, relationship-based nature experience designed for young children (ages 3–5) and their caregivers. Set within the beautiful grounds of the Arboretum, this small-group program invites participants to slow down, connect with one another, and engage with the natural world through shared exploration and playful discovery. This offering emphasizes co-regulation, wonder, and meaningful adult-child interaction while fostering a sense of belonging in nature.

Meet Our Instructors
Dr. Janet Fetzer (PhD, LPCC-S) specializes in trauma and crisis counseling, working with adolescents, adults, and families. Trained in art and play therapy, she uses creative and nature-based approaches, including Forest Therapy, to foster emotional growth and connection. Janet’s style emphasizes relationship, curiosity, and humor to help clients feel safe and understood.
Dr. Debbie Sturm (PhD, LPC-C) is a licensed counselor in Ohio and Virginia with nearly 20 years of experience working with children, youth, adults, and families. She emphasizes healing through relationships, focusing on attachment, self-compassion, and connection. Certified in Forest Therapy, Debbie integrates play therapy, family systems, trauma-informed, and experiential approaches, often using nature and hands-on activities to support emotional growth and well-being across generations.
