Don’t miss this opportunity to talk with land managers and natural resource professionals about your woodland stewardship concerns. Join us at Working Woods for our annual field day, where the demonstration forest is open to the public for guided tours, updates on ongoing research, and conversation with professionals from the ODNR Division of Forestry and regional natural resource agencies.

Tours through the woods will include:

5-year-old timber harvest site
Edge-feathering and habitat improvements
American Chestnut plantings
Forest farming: mushroom log cultivation, highvalue botanicals and food-producing shrubs
Research/updates on forest pests and pathogens
Invasive plant management strategies
Timber stand improvement thinning
Forest pest and pathogen updates
NEW this year:
o New resources on best-practices for Ramps harvesting
o Low-impact trail-building
o Air-drying lumber and chainsaw mill demonstration

Professionals on-hand for questions include…

HF&G Community Forestry & Conservation Staff, HF&G Community Ecology Research Lab, ODNR Division of Forestry, The Nature Conservancy, Natural Resource Conservation Service, Better Meadows & Woodlands, LLP, and more!
