The Research Department hosts volunteers year-round. Volunteers help with a wide variety of tasks ranging from setting up experiments in the field, greenhouse, and laboratory, collecting data, processing samples, and archiving data. Research volunteers also staff outreach tables at HF&G events, such as Goblins in the Garden and the Egg Hunt, where we present our research to the general public.

Volunteers at the Holden Arboretum are a precious resource, making our programs and services possible. Volunteers bring their energy, knowledge and style to the Arboretum and make each guest’s visit fresh and unique.

Cleveland Botanical Garden
Volunteers donate not only their amazing skills and talents, but thousands of hours – collectively – to help with school groups, lead tours, assist with outdoor and indoor garden maintenance, monitor and feed critters, help in the library, work in the store, greet visitors, help with crafts and games, special events, and so much more
