This garden was designed David Slawson, who trained under Kinsaku Nakane, one of Japan’s renowned garden masters. And even outside its impressive history, the manicured tea garden, Austrian pines, Japanese maples, winding hemlocks, and Asiatic lilies speak for themselves.
With its timeless serenity, the Japanese Garden is one of our most popular destinations for wedding ceremonies, and provides spiritual sustenance for all who visit.
Things to Discover
Japanese Garden Lantern | Stone lanterns entered Japan from China and Korea along with the arrival of Buddhism, their votives coming as the light of wisdom over the darkness of ignorance. In time, Shintoism inherited this sentiment; today they bring significance and tradition to teahouses and gardens throughout Japan.
