Research Interests

I assist with the ecological research projects conducted in Dr. Burke’s laboratory. Before joining the research department in August 2020, I volunteered in Dr. Burke’s laboratory, where I looked at mycorrhizal fungi on roots. My previous experience working for the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), U.S. Forest Service and internships has allowed me to see many places in the United States. I have conducted many biological surveys on the following: lesser prairie-chicken (Tympanuchus pallidicinctus), sand dune lizard (Sceloporus arenicolu), and Kuenzler hedgehog cactus (Echinocereus fendleri). As the Emergency Stabilization & Rehabilitation Coordinator for the Roswell, N.M. Field Office (2010), I have organized and managed funding for several wildfires. I am also a former AmeriCorps member, serving my community at the N.C. Museum of Natural Sciences (2013 – 2014).
