We’ve almost made it to June, and there is a lot going on in the gardens this time of year. At the arboretum, rhododendrons are still blooming throughout the Helen S. Layer Rhododendron Garden, from delicate pink and orange azaleas to towering large-leaved evergreen rhododendrons. Now through the next couple of weeks is also the best time to see peonies in full bloom at the arboretum, especially in the Display Garden.

At the botanical garden, roses are starting to show their colors in the Rose Garden near the Allee as well as the Western Reserve Herb Society’s Historic Rose Garden. Also look for the white, lightly fragrant flowers of mockorange in the Rose and Restorative Gardens. Stay tuned next week as we roll from spring into the beginning of the summer season!
