It’s Poppin’: May 15

Leaves

This cool weather has really kept things poppin’ in the gardens. Although we lament it by this time of year, cool springs make for longer blooming seasons. We have a suite of wildflowers just coming into bloom including wild hyacinth, wild columbine, and more. Plus, there are still plenty of rhododendrons to see at both the arboretum and botanical garden. Did you know that we have a rhododendron breeding and research station in Madison? The David G. Leach Research Station, normally closed to the public, is packed with rhododendrons of every shape, size, age, and color. Come check it out on a self-guided tour during peak bloom in May to see the best collection of rhododendrons in northeast Ohio!
