Discover how trees create healthier cities and inspire careers in this hands-on, science- driven exploration of urban ecology!
Empower your students to see the forest and the trees- as climate solutions, community protectors, and as the basis for future careers. This immersive program explores ecosystem services through data collection and scientific tools. Participants will uncover how trees:
- Cool our cities through shade and transpiration
- Filter and slow stormwater, protecting local watersheds
- Store carbon and combat climate change
- Boost public health in underserved communities
Along the way, students will be introduced to green careers in urban forestry, environmental science, and landscape design. By engaging with real-world tools and practices, they’ll gain insight into pathways where they can make a lasting impact on climate resilience and community health as environmental stewards.
