A leader who brings intellect, care, and a hands‑on approach to every aspect of her work, Vikki Broer will receive the Circle of Honor Award at this year’s Harvest Moon gala in recognition of her philanthropic generosity and years of extraordinary service to Holden Forests & Gardens (HF&G).

Vikki joined the HF&G Board of Directors in 2008, where her vision, generosity, and belief in the power of plants to transform lives continues to leave a lasting impact. She retired in 2025 after 22 years of thoughtful and dedicated service, championing diversity and sharing her institutional knowledge to help build a strong operational foundation.

Vikki’s family is also deeply connected to HF&G. Her father, Thomas Urban, gave a generous gift of rare books to the Cleveland Botanical Garden library, a gesture that reflected her family’s long‑standing love of learning and the natural world. She also helped reaffirm HF&G’s focus on living collections, a defining milestone that continues to shape our purpose and identity. Vikki is married to Peter W. Broer, President & CEO of Lumitex, a Brecksville-headquartered company that provides medical device lighting solutions. The Broers currently reside in Bratenahl and have three children and two grandchildren residing in California.

Vikki most recently served as a program officer for special initiatives at the Burton D. Morgan Foundation, and as administrative dean and interim head of school for the Montessori High School at University Circle. She is passionate about community engagement and education, especially in advancing understanding of climate change and the need for a resilient environment. Vikki is a member of the Shaker Lakes Garden Club, serves on the Board of Directors for the Willowbank School of Restoration Arts, and chairs the Bratenahl Planning Commission. She is also Chair Emeritus of The Fund for Our Economic Future.

Vikki’s commitment to our region is reflected in the work of the Weathertop Foundation, where Vikki serves as a trustee, supporting the Cleveland Museum of Art, Western Reserve Land Conservancy, and other community organizations.

We are proud to honor Vikki’s philanthropic spirit and commitment to a thriving Holden Forests & Gardens at this year’s Harvest Moon gala.

This year’s gala promises to be a radiant celebration of purpose and possibility. We hope you’ll join us for an evening that shines a light on all we can grow — together.
