Join artist Gunter Schwegler to learn techniques for hand-painting on silk.

Participants will use water-based dyes that flow like watercolor to create two painted silks, while learning brush control, color mixing, shading, and a bit of history. Supplies will be provided, and all levels of experience are welcome.

Please note that lunch is not provided with this program. Participants are encouraged to bring their own lunch or purchase a salad or snack from the Grab n’ Go fridge.

Gunter Schwegler

Artist

Gunter Schwegler of Cleveland Heights, OH, is a fiber artist specializing in silk painting. His earlier work in watercolor, acrylic, and oil formed the basis of his style and technique. Recent work includes framed paintings, screens, lamps, banners, CD covers, wearables, and public space art. His work is featured in Creative Silk Painting by Janas and Tuckman, and has been commissioned by Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland Chamber Symphony, Parmadale Orphanage, among others. Gunter teaches silk painting workshops at school, college, and adult levels, and in senior centers, art therapy, and hospitals.
