Connect to plants on a creative level!

Participants will learn composition skills and techniques of botanical art including line, form, shading, and layering using inspiration from the natural world and the collections at Cleveland Botanical Garden.

This class welcomes all levels of experience and mediums. The first sessions will include prompts and group exercises with some independent work time. As students increase in skill, they will choose their color medium and begin to work more independently. Each session closes with an opportunity to view other student work and receive feedback.

Age: Adult

Time: Tuesdays October 6 – November 3, from 2 – 4:30 p.m.

Location: Cleveland Botanical Garden

All five class sessions are included in the registration fee. Participants will provide their own materials. For the first day of class, please bring:

A box of extra soft vine charcoal
Double-pointed French stumps (medium)
Kneaded eraser (small)
Smooth Bristol paper
Masking tape
