Spend a morning crafting and relaxing with fellow fiber-enthusiasts in our beautiful spring gardens!

We will provide the pattern and light refreshments to get you started on the nature-inspired Foresta Lumina cowl by Melanie Allaire. An experienced knitter on our staff will be present to provide advice as you work. Following the program, participants are welcome to continue knitting in the garden or take their project home to finish.

Note: This project is not difficult, but prior knowledge of knitting skills will be helpful. Pattern will be provided, all other supplies must be purchased.

Knitting techniques:
– Knitting in the round
– Stranded colorwork
– Changing colors
– Provisional cast on
– Kitchener stitch

Needles/Notions needed:
– Stitch markers
– US 3/3.25mm (16” circular needle)- a second needle of the same size will be needed to finish the cowl.
– Crochet hook for provisional cast on (extras may be available for those who do not have one)

Yardage:
– 1 Main Color – approximately 384 y/105 g fingering weight
– 12 Contrast Colors – approximately 54 y/ 12 g of each color fingering weight
– Scrap yarn for provisional cast on- ideally different color from your main color.

Age: Adult, teens welcome with accompanying adult

Time: 10 a.m. – noon
