Research Interests
I am the Norweb Fellow in Dr. Juliana Medeiros’ lab. Here I am assisting in research that looks at the non-structural carbohydrate concentration in Juniperus species in response to environmental stressors, specifically drought and cold stress. My past research was focused on the influence of forest management practices, particularly tree girdling, on a secondary forest. Here at Working Woods, I examined how a slow release of competition, caused by girdling, influenced nearby residual tree growth and how the surrounding canopy structure changed in response.
