On Friday, September 30th and Saturday, October 1st see the extraordinarily simple beauty of Ikebana – the art of Japanese flower arranging up close. The Ohara School -Northern Ohio Chapter will put their fresh artwork on display for two days only in celebration of their 40th anniversary. Headmaster Hiroki Ohara, assisted by Professor Nishi, will teach two workshops for members of the Ohara School at the Cleveland Botanical Garden. Upon completion of the workshops, you can see the wonder of Ikebana in the Ellipse at the Garden. Included with the price of admission.

The 40th Anniversary celebration will continue at the Cleveland Museum of Art (CMA) with a special guest from Japan on Friday, September 30th, 2022. The event will be preceded at 4p.m. with a lecture by Sinéad Vilbar, Museum curator of Japanese Art. At 5p.m, the Fifth Headmaster of Japan’s Ohara School of Ikebana, Hiroki Ohara, will give a Demonstration of the art of Ikebana, highlighting how Ikebana continues to be globally recognized as an admired art form. The event will be held at the CMA located at 11150 East Boulevard in Cleveland, Ohio in the Gartner Auditorium.
