Phenology for Gardeners
Deepen your connection to the here and now by learning to use phenology as a tool in your gardening practice.

Deepen your connection to the here and now by studying phenology, the cycle of seasonal changes.
Human life and culture evolved in intimate connection to seasonal changes in the landscape, and these natural rhythms remain important to life on Earth. This virtual class will introduce the topic of phenology, how plants and animals are affected by weather and climate, and how a gardener can use phenology as a tool in their cultivation practices. We will explore phenology through various lenses, including western science, traditional indigenous knowledge, and folk wisdom. Participants will receive an introduction to the Nature’s Notebook app, as well as materials to create their own phenology journal.
