Magic is happening behind the scenes at Holden Arboretum!

The Core Natural Areas are the newest garden areas at HF&G’s Arboretum campus. These forested, in-between segments link your favorite gardens and are in the process of being transformed. As invasive species are managed, new plants, trails, and other features are being added to turn these sites into food forests. These spaces are still being managed, and many remain closed to the public. This is your chance to peek behind-the-scenes and meet our hard-working horticulture staff!

Terrain: up to 1.5 miles, some paved paths, mostly natural surface. Note that some trails are still under construction and may be muddy and contain trip hazards. Sturdy hiking shoes are recommended.

Age: Adult

Time: 2 – 4 p.m.

Location: Holden Arboretum | Thayer Classroom
