Teach engaging plant and nature-related educational programs at the Cleveland Botanical Garden and at locations around Cleveland!
We are seeking some enthusiastic individuals to deliver educational programming at the Cleveland Botanical Garden and off-site to support our outreach efforts at local schools and recreational centers. Must be comfortable interacting with students in preschool through 8th grade. This part-time contractor work occurs mostly in the morning and early afternoon, Tuesday through Friday during the school year. Some outreach programming takes place during after school hours. Holden Forests & Gardens is looking for someone reliable and dedicated who can work well with students and other educators. A natural science and/or teaching background (formal or informal), and a love of plants and the natural world is preferred. The Education department seeks an organized, creative, and friendly team member to support the Public Programs Coordinator as a Birthday Party Guide. Guides will set up, greet the Birthday family, lead, and tear down aspects of themed birthday parties at the Holden Arboretum. Birthday parties are held for children four (4) to fifteen (15) years of age. This position’s primary location is at the Holden Arboretum which spans 3,600 acres; the 200 core acres include themed gardens, trails, and plant collections with access to natural areas.

Summer Environmental Education Instructor
The Education department is seeking dynamic facilitators who love children and the great outdoors to lead day camp programs at both Cleveland Botanical Garden and Holden Arboretum during the summer of 2023. Individuals and LLCs interested in contract-based income and group activities that foster ecology, community, and creativity should apply. We are looking for instructors who have a background working with young people and familiarity with environmental education and enthusiasm for recreation are a huge plus. Holden Forests & Gardens will provide the curriculum, training and quick references you need to succeed in delivering these unforgettable experiences. Must be comfortable interacting with families and children ages 6-13. This full-time contractor work occurs from 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday from June 5th to August 4th and be available for training week of May 30, 2023.
